Thomas Wesley Brasel

about me.

I come from the small town called Hommersåk, just outside of Stavanger on the west coast of Norway. I grew up in quite a musical home, and I started singing and playing several instruments from a young age. Over the years I started to love performing as well, and decided that I wanted to go to a high school that would further improve my capabilities and talents.

After high school I attended the Academy of Music and Drama (Artisten) at the University of Gothenburg where I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. During my time at the academy I played roles like Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady and Mr. Brooke in Little Women. My first professional show as an intern was The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Gothenburg Opera House, where I was a part of the ensemble and US Frederic Charlus. Upon graduating from Artisten I landed a job at Folketeateret in Oslo that wouldn't start for another 6 months, so meanwhile I moved to New York to see what life would be like as a struggling artist in the theatre capital of the world.

After a short stay in NY I moved to Oslo and started working at Folketeateret as a part of the ensemble in their production of Chess. We got to do 13 shows before the pandemic struck. Since then life's been rather quiet, considering the state of the world, but I've been able to keep myself busy. I was lucky enough to be able to perform on The Voice Norway for a couple of episodes. I got at role in 'Folk og Røvere i Kardemomme by' at Folketeateret. And last but not least I landed the role of "Sky" in Folketeaterets upcoming production of 'Mamma Mia'. I am very exited to do this show and make my debut in a main role with a lot of competent and experienced people by my side.
